Baglama saz - Desert breeze

next

It was 2010 when I went to Turkey to visit Ankara University. A student in the faculty (Umut) had a baglama saz... I already knew that I wanted to buy a baglama saz during my stay in Ankara, so I asked him where I could find one. He was so kind to go with me in a music store: without him I think it would have been impossible to communicate with the shop owner. Umut asked for a good saz and he also bargained on the price for me.
Every person that I met during my stay was so kind and polite with me that I will always remember turkish hospitality.

The saz is a very nice instrument. I play it almost like a guitar but the possibility to play quarter tones and the peculiar tuning gives it a very special flavour.
